Twenty years in IT, now focused on security

I've worked in IT for over 20 years, and for much of that time security has been the part that mattered most: the incidents, the audits and the conversations with people who needed to know they were safe.

I set up fromIT to do that work properly, personally and in plain English.

Experience and credentials

  • Certified ISO 27001 implementation practitioner. I help organisations put ISO 27001 into practice, from scoping and risk assessment to a successful certification audit.
  • Cyber Essentials, hands on. Gap reviews, fixes and evidence, through to certificate, for organisations of all sizes.
  • Incident response. Compromised Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace mailboxes, account takeover and invoice fraud, contained and cleaned up, usually starting within the hour.
  • Speaking. I've presented to government and defence audiences.

How I work

  • One person, start to finish. The person you speak to is the person doing the work.
  • Plain English. Reviews and advice are written for decision makers, not for other IT people.
  • Fixed prices. After a short call I send a fixed quote, and nothing goes ahead until you've agreed it.
  • Alongside your IT. I work with your IT provider or in-house team, and never ask you to switch.

Where I work

fromIT has offices in Rugby, Birmingham, Malvern in Worcestershire and London, with meetings by appointment. Most work is done remotely, which is how I can help organisations anywhere in the UK, and I'm on site whenever it helps.
