What we collect when you get in touch, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.
Who we are
fromIT is based at 2nd Floor Chestnut House, 24 North Street, Rugby CV21 2AG. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. You can contact us at ashley@fromit.co.uk.
What we collect and why
When you email, call, message us on WhatsApp or book a call, we receive your name, contact details and whatever you choose to tell us. We use it to reply, arrange and hold the call, and, if you become a client, to deliver our services.
Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries, or contract where you engage us.
Third parties
Call bookings are handled by Google Calendar. Directions links open Google Maps, which has its own privacy policy. If you message us on WhatsApp, your number and messages are also handled by WhatsApp (Meta), under its own privacy policy. This website does not use advertising cookies.
We use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit the site and which pages they read. It sets cookies in your browser and sends Google details such as the pages you view, your browser and device type, and an approximate location. We use this only to improve the site, and we don't use it to identify you. You can find out more in how Google uses data from sites that use its services, or block it with Google's opt-out browser add-on.
The email security checker runs in your browser. The domain you enter is sent directly from your browser to Cloudflare's public DNS service (cloudflare-dns.com), or Google Public DNS (dns.google) if Cloudflare can't be reached, to look up its public records. It is never sent to us, and we don't store it.
The PHP2Shell checker runs entirely in your browser. The version or headers you enter are never sent anywhere, including to us.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that don't lead to work are deleted within 12 months. Client records are kept for as long as needed for the contract and our legal and accounting obligations.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or object to how we use it, by emailing ashley@fromit.co.uk. If you're unhappy with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
